Workshops

Workshops are held here on Chapel Croft, either just on the croft using "materials" already garnered from the local beaches, or for the more adventurous - beachcombing adventures - walking the convoluted coastlines looking for useful, thought provoking flotsam and jetsam (bring your imagination), retrieving plastic/wood and returning to the croft to complete sculptures of animals, or whatever creations come to mind.......

Larger "instalations" will be made on the beaches and photographed for posterity. The local coastline is a treasure trove of geographical features, following the coast past old dwellings, caraidh (stone fish trap), forgotten zawns now only visited by sheep and seabirds.  Here the backwashes and tides gather the rubbish strewn across our oceans by our brethren plying the sea, a consumerist strandline of obsolescence, until now.......

Come and join us on this voyage of discovery, the coast is waiting to greet you.  Imagination is the key, for children, washed up bouys create great opportunities for percussion, other flotsam can be used for music making.  The world is literally your oyster or, ahem, even orchestra!

Then, of course, there is the weather which can impinge on any well laid plans, that is where the workshops come into their own, on wet, windy days entertaining the children......
